Davie’s big holiday light show is Winter Wonderland at Flamingo Gardens, which opens Saturday, Nov. 21, and runs nightly to Dec. 30. The town adds a craft fair, a Christmas movie under the stars and, judging by last year, Santa at a fire station, Santa on the phone and Santa for dogs. The town’s tree lighting and horseback Jingle Bell parade have their own page: Christmas parade and tree lighting.

Winter Wonderland at Flamingo Gardens
Hoffman’s Chocolates Winter Wonderland at Flamingo Gardens is a walk-through light show on about 10 acres of the garden at 3750 S. Flamingo Road. The garden’s event page lists:
- Dates: Nov. 21 through Dec. 30, 2026; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day
- Hours: 5:30 to 9:30 p.m., last admission 8:30 p.m.; tickets are timed by arrival
- Santa: Santa’s Village, presented by Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital, with Santa nightly through Dec. 23
- Also: live holiday music each night on the Wray Lawn, storytime with Mrs. Claus and s’mores roasting
- Plan for: 90 minutes to two hours. Lawn chairs are welcome for the concerts; outside food and drinks are not.
It is a separate fundraising event, not included in daytime admission, and the animal exhibits, museum and tram are closed at night. Call 954-473-2955.

Santa visits: how 2025 ran
The town has not announced its 2026 Santa events. Last year’s, from the town’s own announcements, give a guide to what to watch for:
- Santa’s Enchanted Fire Station, 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at Fire Station 86 inside Shenandoah Park, 14651 SW 14th St. Davie Fire Rescue and Davie Professional Firefighters Local 2315 hosted a free meet-and-greet with Santa, fire truck photos, a petting zoo and bounce houses, and asked for a new, unwrapped toy for Harvest Drive. 2025 announcement.
- Paws with Claus, 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Dec. 13, 2025, at Peaceful Ridge Dog Park: free dog photos with Santa. Dogs outside the park had to be on a non-retractable 6-foot leash. 2025 announcement.
- Santa’s Calling, a free phone call from Santa for Davie children ages 2 to 10, made Dec. 8-11, 2025, between 6 and 9 p.m., with online registration at davie-fl.gov/SantaCall. 2025 announcement.
Flamingo Road Nursery, 1655 S. Flamingo Road, also offers free photos with Santa in the weeks before Christmas, with dates on its seasonal events page.
Giving: the town toy drive
In 2025 the town collected new, unwrapped toys for more than 300 Davie children from Nov. 24 to Dec. 15 at Town Hall’s clerk’s office and the Pine Island Multipurpose Center, among other drop-offs (2025 announcement). We will post the 2026 drive when it is announced.
Hanukkah
Hanukkah 2026 begins at sundown on Friday, Dec. 4. No public menorah lighting in Davie had been announced by Oct. 8; we will add any that organizers publish with a date, time and place. Send yours through our contact page.
Holiday closures
- Trash: the town says there is no solid waste service on Christmas Day, Friday, Dec. 25, 2026. Central-zone homes (Tuesday and Friday pickup) are collected on their next regular day, Tuesday, Dec. 29. See trash and recycling.
- Town offices: in 2025 the town closed Dec. 24 and 25; parks stayed open 9 a.m. to sunset and the Pine Island fitness and aquatic centers closed (2025 notice). The 2026 notice is not out yet.
- Schools: Broward County Public Schools are closed Dec. 21 through Jan. 1 for winter break; students return Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2027 (district calendar).
