What happens at a session

Gardening experts lead each workshop, the town said. Every session includes hands-on demonstrations. The town said the series is meant for people of all ages and experience levels.

Topics range from the basics to more advanced techniques. The town listed these among them:

  • plant nutrition
  • soil preparation
  • watering

The garden shares its address with the town’s Robbins Preserve, which is on our guide to Davie parks and trails.

What it means for you

  • No sign-up is listed. The town’s release gives no registration step or fee.
  • Each session is one hour. Workshops start at 9 a.m. and end at 10 a.m.
  • Pick the sessions that fit your yard. Palm care is in December and tropical fruit in March.
  • Questions go to the park ranger. The town’s park ranger takes inquiries at 954-797-1145. The Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts Department is at 954-797-1159.

More free outings are on our free things to do in Davie page, and this month’s calendar is on things to do this month.
