How admission works
The district’s map for the school (PDF) says “vacancies are filled by applicants who reside in Broward County” and that admission follows School Board Policy 6400. The district’s 2026-27 data report (PDF) lists the Nova schools among its school choice options, with magnet programs and reassignments; the School Choice page has the application. The district pays for bus service to the Nova schools: its Oct. 6 workshop put the yearly cost at $3.1 million.
Enrollment and teachers
- District count: 691 students on Aug. 21, 2026, the 10th day of the 2026-27 school year. That is 27 fewer than on the same day in 2025, according to the district’s Tenth Day Enrollment Count.
- Federal count: 773 students in the 2023-24 school year, with 41 full-time-equivalent teachers, according to the NCES directory. That works out to about 19 students per teacher.
State report card
Florida grades every public school A to F. A school’s grade is the share of possible points it earns on state test results, learning gains and, for high schools, the graduation rate and college and career acceleration. The state’s 2026 file sets an A for an elementary school at 62% of points or more.
| School year | Grade |
|---|---|
| 2025-26 | A (63% of possible points) |
| 2024-25 | B |
| 2023-24 | B |
From the state’s 2026 school grades file, the share of students scoring on grade level on the state tests in 2025-26:
- Third-grade English language arts: 79%
- English language arts: 74%
- Math: 73%
- Science: 59%
The full report card is on the state’s Florida school report cards site. It is an interactive dashboard; the figures above come from the downloadable file.
Zone and future plans
Because the school draws from the whole county, it has no feeder pattern of its own; a student’s zoned school stays the default. Check it in the district’s Find My School tool.
The district’s May 12 Redefining Our Schools update (PDF) set out a plan to redesign the Nova schools as the Nova Innovation Zone, a kindergarten-to-12th-grade model built around technology, workforce pathways and university partnerships. The plan calls for a full design blueprint in June 2027, School Board approval in summer 2027 and a prototype launch in August 2027.
